Project Detail
The project arose from the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG)’s ownership of 19 buildings in the Johannesburg central business district that needed refurbishing. It sought to accommodate several GPG departments in one precinct and a PPP framework was considered the best solution to enable the provincial government to partner with the private sector to deliver the precinct.
This development is intended to facilitate the regeneration of the Johannesburg CBD. Its heritage aspects are being protected and extensive discussions with all stakeholders have ensured that old and iconic buildings such as 78 Fox Street, Old Reserve Bank and New Library Hotel are preserved and utilised.
