Mariswe holds a Level 1 Contribution level on the DTI’s Construction Sector Codes of Good Practice
Mariswe is 100% employee owned and 56% of its employees either own shares or are direct shareholding beneficiaries. It is more than 55% black owned, almost 30% women owned, and 24% black women owned.
Abaqeshwa, an entity wholly owned by black employees, holds 25% of Mariswe’s shares. An additional 30% of our shares have been acquired individually by black management and black professionals within the company.
Mariswe is committed to investing in the education and development of South Africa’s youth in fields of study associated with the competencies required by the company. In this regard Mariswe offers bursaries, paid vacation work and experiential training, graduate employment and a structured mentoring programme, known as the Blueprint Programme, to assist young graduates with professional registration.
South African citizens who are pursuing BSc (Eng), BEng, BTech or post graduate studies in civil engineering at a recognised South African university or Technikon are eligible for bursaries. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed all first year subjects. Preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
