Project Detail
The NMISA is part of the Department of Trade and Industry’s family of Technical Infrastructure Institutes, which is responsible for the measurement standards and sciences, procedures and regulations for goods and products.
The NMISA sought to modernise and upgrade the national measurement standards as well as the equipment that determines them and needed fit-for-purpose infrastructure for the equipment. The existing NMISA buildings had reached the technical limit of modifications.
Phase 1 of Mariswe’s brief involved the needs and space planning analyses, followed by development of the schedule of accommodation and related needs for the NMISA facilities on the new site. Phase 2 included input for the procurement documentation.
The feasibility study for recapitalisation of the NMISA laboratory infrastructure was submitted to National Treasury for approval to proceed with the next step of the project in line with Private Public Partnership (PPP) manual.
