DIVISION HEAD: WATER AND SANITATION

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Zainul Haque Shiekh as Division Head: Water and Sanitation, effective from 15 January 2024. Zain will be based in our Pretoria office.

With over 26 years of experience in the built environment across Asia, Australia, and Africa (Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Lesotho, Ghana, and South Africa), Zain is a professionally registered civil engineer and holds a Master’s degree in civil engineering.

His skills and experience encompass strategy development, a robust technical proficiency in Water and Sanitation, leadership and management of multi-disciplinary teams, international exposure, coaching and mentoring, client management, project management, and strong design capabilities.

We eagerly anticipate Zain’s leadership in the Water and Sanitation Division and extend our best wishes as he becomes a part of the Mariswe family.

We also express our gratitude to Mr. Louis Uys for his dedicated contributions as the Division Head: Water and Sanitation for over 6 years. Louis will continue in this role until 31 January 2024, after which he will devote his time as the Project Director for the Lesotho Highlands Water Project – Phase II (LHWP2). We wish Louis all the best in leading this project.
